Cincinnati right-hander Joey Hamilton pitched his team to a shutout win, 3-0, over the Boston Red Sox. Cincinnati is now 24-18, Boston 19-23.
Hamilton, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 5-3. In 8 innings of work, Hamilton gave up no earned runs on 3 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Red Sox punchless, offensively.
