Blue Jays Lose, 3-2, at RFK Stadium
In a low-scoring tilt between the Washington Senators and the Toronto Blue Jays, Andy Pettitte was the difference-maker. The Washington left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. The Senators, now 20-21, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

With two out in the bottom of the sixth, Mike Stanley stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 27th hit of the season and put Washington in front, 3-2.

Toronto manager Jose Mata said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
