Fans got some free baseball at SkyDome.

The Baltimore Orioles faced a tough opponent in Toronto pitcher Melido Perez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at SkyDome by a final score of 4-3. Perez went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Baltimore reliever Roger McDowell picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Curt Brown absorbed the loss.

Baltimore used the bat of Troy O'Leary to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

In postgame comments, O'Leary said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."

Their 18-23 record puts the Orioles 5th in the United League East Division.
