The Minnesota Twins topped the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2, in Federal League action at Metrodome. The player of the game was Minnesota pitcher Hideo Nomo. The Twins saw their record improve to 18-25.

The Twins picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Twins manager Darren Fischbach. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
