A 4-RBI performance from Charles Johnson, who is tied for 7th in the FL in triples with 2, helped the Florida Marlins beat the Charlotte Knights, 7-5. Florida leads the Federal League East Division by 2½ games.

Johnson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count sinker from Jeff E. Gray, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Marlins a 7-5 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Johnson.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Johnson.
