Gant Hits 2 home runs in Orioles Win
|
The Baltimore Orioles bested the Colorado Rockies by a score of 5-1, with left fielder Ron Gant getting the main credit. On the day, Gant went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Orioles. Baltimore's record now stands at 15-28, placing them last in the United League East Division.
With Baltimore leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Gant hit a fastball from Kelly Downs for a solo home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Orioles ahead, 3-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gant. "And not try to do too much."
