Neidlinger Dominant in Detroit Win
|
Detroit and Los Angeles duked it out at Tiger Stadium and the Tigers came out victorious.
Detroit Tigers starter Jim Neidlinger was in fine form against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Tiger Stadium, leading his team to a 2-0 win. The Tigers now have a record of 17-26.
Neidlinger, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 4-5. In 8.1 innings of work, Neidlinger gave up no earned runs on 2 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Dodgers punchless, offensively.
Afterward, Tigers manager Julio Izquierdo was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
