Yankees Prevail, 3-1, Over St. Louis
|
Brian Bohanon never let St. Louis get something going. The New York left-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Yankees to a 3-1 win. Bohanon went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. Andy Ashby earned the save for New York, his 1st of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Derek Jeter, the top prospect . Jeter contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put New York up, 3-1.
"We'll build on this win," said Bohanon.
New York, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.
