Red Sox Subdue Chicago, 4-2
|
Mike Cameron left his imprint on the 4-2 Boston win against the Chicago Cubs. Cameron, who is tied for 7th in the FL in triples with 2, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Willie E Adams, the winner, improved to 2-3. He held Chicago to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Earning his 4th save of the year was Roberto Hernandez.
Boston used the timely hitting of Akira Eto to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We did enough to win," said Cameron.
With the win, Boston has a record of 12-32. Chicago falls to 26-18.
