Creams Finish Off Spiders in 12
The Milwaukee Creams did just enough to sneak past the Cleveland Spiders, 5-4, at Milwaukee County Stadium. Milwaukee pitcher Kenny Rogers earned player of the game honors. With the win, the Creams improved to 26-18.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Rey Sanchez came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Cleveland pitcher Steve Cooke, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Milwaukee on top, 5-4.

"This game will make a man of you," said Sean Norman, the Milwaukee skipper, "if it doesn't kill you first."
