Mets Stumble, Lose to Giants
The San Francisco Giants defeated the New York Mets, 9-4, in United League action at Shea Stadium. Jay Bell received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. San Francisco is now 32-11, 9 games up in the United League West Division.
