Seattle's Listach Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
|
Pat Listach got the glory and the headlines today, but the Toronto Blue Jays left with the win. The Seattle second baseman easily handled the Blue Jays pitching, going 5-for-5, but his Seattle Pilots came out on the short end of the 6-5 score.
Listach told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win.
"Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end."
Pat Listach singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
During the current season Listach is batting at a .265 clip with no home runs and 12 RBIs. He has played in 43 games and scored 23 times.
