Pilots Solve Orioles, 5-2
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a sterling performance from pitcher David Wells, but the Pilots still prevailed, 5-2. Wells was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. With the win, the Pilots improved to 23-21.
The result might have been different for Seattle, had it not been for Bill R Mueller, the 26-year old third baseman . Mueller stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put Seattle up, 3-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Feels good to get the job done," Mueller said after the game.
