Hidalgo Excels, Kansas City Blows Out Cleveland
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Richard Hidalgo, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Spiders, 25-3. Hidalgo slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5 for the Royals. Rheal Cormier earned the win to go to 5-2. He allowed 3 earned runs on 10 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. The Royals have an impressive 27-17 record.

Hidalgo had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Sterling Hitchcock, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Royals a 4-3 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Hidalgo.
