The Texas Rangers defeated the Orlando Sun Rays, 8-5, at Orlando Citrus Bowl today. Leading the charge for Texas was third baseman Chipper Jones. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Texas is in 5th place in the Federal League Central Division with a record of 22-23.

One significant at-bat for Texas came with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth. Rangers catcher Jorge Posada hit a bases-clearing double, which helped Texas go on to win.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Jones.
