It was a good time at Riverfront Stadium, where fans came to watch the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds get after it.

The Cincinnati Reds got a good effort from starter Jim Abbott in defeating the St. Louis Cardinals at Riverfront Stadium. The final score was 8-2. Cincinnati now has a 3-game win streak.

Bobby Higginson hit a 3-run home run off Scott Erickson in the bottom of the first, which put the Reds ahead, 3-0. In addition to the homer, Higginson had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Abbott said.
