Valdez K's 11 En Route to 5-0 Padres Win
|
The 1994 season is getting ugly for Florida.
The San Diego Padres picked up a win at Jack Murphy Stadium, knocking off the Florida Marlins, 5-0. Starting pitcher Ismael Valdez played a key role in the triumph. The losing streak for Florida has now reached 4 games.
Valdez made it look effortless. He scattered 1 hit over 7 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. The San Diego right-hander encountered little resistance from the Florida hitters. His season record is now 3-5.
"We had a good game plan," Valdez said, "and we were able to execute it."
