Red Sox Prevail, 3-2, Over Milwaukee
|
Boston and Milwaukee duked it out at Fenway Park and the Red Sox came out victorious.
The Boston Red Sox did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Milwaukee Creams at Fenway Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Pete Harnisch, who captured player of the game honors. Roberto Hernandez earned save number 5.
Had David Ortiz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ortiz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Red Sox.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Boston manager Brett Williams.
The Red Sox now own a record of 13-33.
