Twins Continue Skid Thanks to Offerman, Reds
|
The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Minnesota Twins, 6-4, at Riverfront Stadium today. Leading the charge for Cincinnati was shortstop Jose Offerman. He was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Jose Rijo earned the win to go to 5-2. He allowed 4 earned runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 11 strikeouts. The Twins, at 23-25, have lost 4 in a row.
With Cincinnati leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Offerman hit a changeup from Darryl Kile for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Reds ahead, 5-0.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Offerman told the Cincinnati Daily.
