Expos Need Extra Frames to Get Past Pilots
|
Fans got some free baseball at Olympic Stadium.
Raul Mondesi batted in 3 runs to lead Montreal to a win over Seattle. The final score was 7-6. Mondesi chipped in with 1 single and 1 home run. The win was credited to Ken Howell in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Darren Holmes took the loss.
Jerry Browne had the critical at-bat for Montreal. With two out in the bottom of the tenth inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave Montreal the 7-6 walk-off win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Mondesi told the Montreal Daily.
The Expos bumped their record to 27-20 with this latest triumph.
