Floyd Youmans pitched well, but his team, the San Francisco Giants, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Washington Senators at Candlestick Park. Picking up the save was Lee Smith, his 4th. Washington is now riding a 4-game win streak.

The Senators grabbed the lead in the top of the sixth. With two out, Jon Nunnally hit a 2-run home run off Floyd Youmans, putting Washington in front, 2-1. For Nunnally, it was his 3rd home run of the season.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Nunnally.
