Expos second baseman Jeff Kent put his stamp on his team's 6-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. Kent went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Montreal in the contest. Jon Lieber got the win, improving to 3-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Ed Correa earned the save for Montreal, his 7th of the year.

Montreal took a 4-2 lead on Jose Hernandez's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Colorado pitcher Brett Gideon in the top of the eighth.
