Behind a solid performance from first baseman Frank Thomas, the Minnesota Twins defeated the Cleveland Spiders, 6-1. Thomas hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Twins. With the victory, the Twins record now stands at 20-29.

Thomas came through with some timely hitting for Minnesota. With the score 1-0 in the top of the third and no one down, Thomas hit a full count fastball for a grand slam home run. His 14th home run of the season made it 5-0, Minnesota.
