Loss Extends New York Losing Streak
The Milwaukee Creams got a stellar performance from pitcher Wally Whitehurst, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a 2-1 win at Yankee Stadium. Jeff Calhoun picked up the save, his 6th. New York has now lost 6 straight.

It could have been a different outcome for Milwaukee, had it not been for Carlos Delgado, the two-time Gold Glove winner . Delgado contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the sixth inning to put Milwaukee up, 2-1.

"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Whitehurst.
