Colorado withstood an impressive performance by Washington third baseman Willie Greene to defeat the Senators, 7-2, at Mile High Stadium. Greene was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. The Rockies' win now puts them at 25-24.

One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Washington hurler Carlos Perez, Todd Pratt, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1991 draft, hit a single. The Rockies went on to win.

Pratt told a Colorado Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
