The New York Mets beat the Seattle Pilots, 11-3, at Kingdome. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Greg Colbrunn, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 7. New York is now 28-22, while Seattle is 26-23.

Colbrunn in the top of the third had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Mets leading 1-0, he hit a 2-run double.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Colbrunn told reporters after the game.
