Red Sox Score Late, Stun Rangers, 3-1
|
Starting Pitcher Mike Remlinger was lights out, as the Boston Red Sox beat the Texas Rangers, 3-1. The last-place Red Sox now have a record of 18-33.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Boston. That's when 30-year old catcher Hector Villanueva hit a 2-run home run off Dan Plesac to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"This wasn't a good win," said Remlinger. "It was a great win."
