Giants Come Up Short at Montreal
|
Montreal Expos starter Ed Correa was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the San Francisco Giants, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Correa, now 5-3. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The Expos improved to a lofty 38-13.
Chris Brown, who is a two-time All-Star, chipped in for Montreal with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"The old adage is true," said Correa. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
