Seattle Pilots starter Cliff Brantley was in fine form against the New York Mets at Kingdome, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Darren Holmes earned the save, his 12th. The Pilots, now 27-23, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

Ken Griffey Jr. was vital part of the Seattle win. He went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third with two out, Griffey Jr. hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Pilots.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Brantley.
