Greene Helps Washington Cruise to 11-1 Win
The Washington Senators bested the Colorado Rockies by a score of 11-1, with third baseman Willie Greene getting the main credit. On the day, Greene was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6 for the Senators. Jim Neidlinger picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 7-2. The Senators have an impressive 32-18 record.

It could have been a different outcome for Washington, had it not been for Jon Nunnally, the 25-year old right fielder . Nunnally contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Washington up, 2-0.

Colorado manager called the blowout loss "an embarrassment."
