Spiders Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Cleveland catcher George E Williams was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the St. Louis Cardinals. He went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Cleveland. Cleveland is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Williams had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 12th. On a first pitch curveball from Steve Chitren, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Spiders a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Williams.
"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Williams said.
