Abbott Leads New York Past Texas
|
New York Yankees starter Jim Abbott found his groove in his team's 2-0 win over the Texas Rangers. The Yankees, now 26-25, have won 5 in a row.
In his 111-pitch effort, Abbott allowed no runs on 5 hits over 8.2 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 4.
"Wins don't come easy," Abbott told the New York Citizen. "They don't just hand them out like lollipops."
