Pilots Solve Senators, 5-3
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Dante Bichette, the Seattle Pilots defeated the Washington Senators, 5-3. Bichette went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Pilots. The Pilots bumped their record to 28-23 with this latest triumph.
Bichette contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Seattle in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Bichette took a curveball from Andy Pettitte and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Pilots to leap in front, 2-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bichette. "And not try to do too much."
