Royals Get One-Run Win at New York
|
The Kansas City Royals turned back the New York Yankees, 4-3, at Yankee Stadium. Roberto Alomar was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Armando Benitez recorded the save for Kansas City, his 10th of the season. The losing skid has reached 10 games for New York.
Alomar provided the big break for the Royals in the top of the third inning. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run, helping Kansas City to get the win.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said New York manager Tigerr Wolfe.
