Larry Walker was the difference-maker for the Minnesota Twins in what turned into a shootout with the Cleveland Spiders. Walker, who finished 5th in the FL in RBI with 124 in 1992, went 3-for-5 in the 11-9 Twins win. Jerry Spradlin notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 3-0. The third-place Twins now have a record of 26-26.

The Spiders had been locked in a 8-8 tie with the Twins going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Todd Zeile came to the plate. Zeile hit a 3-run home run on a 2-2 splitter from Cleveland hurler Sterling Hitchcock. It was Zeile's 10th home run of the year.
