Maddux Twirls 5-0 Shutout
|
It was a quiet day for the Washington Senators at Dodger Stadium -- a little too quiet. Los Angeles Dodgers starter Greg Maddux silenced the Senators, holding them to 5 hits and keeping them scoreless in a complete-game 5-0 win.
"It was frustrating against Maddux today," Washington manager Alexander Cumana said.
The Los Angeles starting pitcher walked 1 and allowed 5 hits while fanning 8.
Thus far this season, Maddux has posted a 5-4 record, started 12 games, struck out 92 batters in 97 innings and compiled a 3.15 ERA.
