Braves Prevail, 4-2, Over Minnesota
|
Atlanta rode a good effort from starter Melido Perez to beat the Minnesota Twins at Metrodome. The final score was 4-2. Earning his 1st save of the year was Roberto Hernandez. The loss drops Minnesota to 3-3.
Also pitching in for Atlanta was right fielder Bernard Gilkey, who hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, Gilkey went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Gilkey after the game.
