Clark Collects Hit Number 2000
"It would have been a lot nicer if my 2000th hit had won the game," said Will Clark after the Toronto Blue Jays had been tripped up by the Los Angeles Dodgers, 9-6, spoiling his big day. The Blue Jays first baseman gained access to the exclusive 2000-hit club by going 2-for-4 in the game played at SkyDome.

"The standing ovation by the fans is not something I will ever forget," Clark said to the press after the game. "I think even the Dodgers fans were cheering me."

For his career Clark has batted .288 and hit 362 home runs.
