Reds Lose to Marlins in Walk Off

Florida pitcher Wilson Alvarez did his part in helping his team beat the Cincinnati Reds, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Florida reliever Paul Byrd, now 4-0. The loser was Doug Henry. Florida goes to 35-20. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Florida shortstop Craig Counsell hit a 3-run home run, helping his team get the win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Counsell said.
