Royals Snatch 2-1 Win
|
Kansas City Royals starter Kevin Brown turned in a sterling performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Kansas City, now 4-2, has played well in the early going.
Rick Wilkins, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1990 draft, chipped in for Kansas City with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Brown, "and let the rest take care of itself."
