Pilots Prevail, 4-2, Over San Francisco
|
Candlestick Park was the site of a competitive game between the San Francisco Giants and Seattle Pilots.
Seattle Pilots starter Todd Van Poppel was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the San Francisco Giants, 4-2. The Pilots sit in 4th place in the United League West Division with a record of 25-29.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Vinny Castilla, the 27-year old third baseman . Castilla contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Seattle up, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Seattle manager Robert O'Neill.
