|
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Floyd Youmans pitched effectively against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 5-2 win. In 6 innings, Youmans surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Danny Patterson converted his 15th save in 17 tries.
Moises Alou put Arizona in front, 4-1, when he took Ramiro Mendoza downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the top of the fifth. It was his 14th home run of the season.
"Everything felt in sync," said Youmans.
Arizona is now 31-25, Los Angeles 26-28.
