White Sox Lose, 7-3, at Busch Stadium
|
It was a good time at Busch Stadium, where fans came to watch the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals get after it.
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Busch Stadium, knocking off the Chicago White Sox, 7-3. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Joe Johnson, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 7.1 innings, Johnson surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Graeme Lloyd converted his 1st save in 1 tries.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from first baseman Ivan Calderon. For the game, Calderon went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 61st hit of the season gave St. Louis a 3-1 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Johnson told the St. Louis Gazette.
The Cardinals own a robust 36-21 mark.
