Rodriguez goes 3-for-4, Senators Move to 35-20
|
The Washington Senators stymied the New York Mets, 5-1, at Shea Stadium. Alex Rodriguez, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Washington. Troy Percival converted his 13th save in 15 tries. The Senators own a robust 35-20 mark.
Rodriguez had a critical at-bat in the top of the third for Washington, coming through with a run-scoring triple to put Washington in front, 1-0.
"I had some good swings out there," said Rodriguez.
