Orioles Win at Detroit, 5-2
|
Matt Nokes made an impact in the 5-2 Baltimore win over Detroit. Nokes, who is tied for 6th in the UL with a 1.007 OPS, was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Dwight Gooden picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 6-3. Roger McDowell finished to wrap up his 13th save.
Nokes provided the big break for the Orioles in the top of the first inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run, helping Baltimore to get the win.

Baltimore is now riding a 3-game win streak.
