Orioles Trip Expos, 4-3
|
The Baltimore Orioles scored a 4-3 win versus the Montreal Expos at Memorial Stadium. Baltimore pitcher Rod Nichols nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Nichols got the win, improving to 3-6. He allowed 8 hits and walked 0 over 7.1 innings. Nichols allowed 2 earned runs. The Orioles' win now puts them at 20-35.
With no one out in the bottom of the fourth, Jacob Brumfield barreled up a curveball from Ed Correa. The result was a solo home run, putting the Orioles in front, 4-2.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Brumfield told the Baltimore Today. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
