Griffey Jr. Helps Pilots Run Win Streak to 3

Getting a good performance from center fielder Ken Griffey Jr., the Seattle Pilots defeated the Colorado Rockies, 7-4. Griffey Jr. was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Pilots. Cliff Brantley earned the win for Seattle. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 6-3. Seattle now has a 3-game win streak.
Griffey Jr. contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Seattle in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Griffey Jr. took a fastball from Curt Schilling and stroked the home run to right. His 15th home run of the season allowed the Pilots to leap in front, 4-2.
