Los Angeles shortstop Denny Hocking had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Colorado Rockies, 7-4. Jerry DiPoto earned the save for Los Angeles, his 7th of the year. Los Angeles is now 30-26, while Colorado is 27-30.

Los Angeles used the bat of Keith A. Miller to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Miller told the Los Angeles Gazette. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
