Senators Slip Past Toronto, 2-1
|
The Washington Senators got a magnificent performance from pitcher Livan Hernandez, who muffled the Toronto offense en route to a tight 2-1 Senators win at RFK Stadium. The Senators have an impressive 37-21 record.
Alex Rodriguez had a nice at-bat for the Senators with no one out in the bottom of the 15th. With the bases empty, the shortstop drew a walk, which would prove important in the Washington win.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Toronto manager Jose Mata.
