Gomez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Expos
|
Montreal right-hander Jon Lieber made an effective start against the Baltimore Orioles at Olympic Stadium, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Montreal reliever Ed Correa picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Roger McDowell took the loss. Montreal now has a 3-game win streak.
Leo Gomez was the walk-off hero for Montreal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Expos third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said David Polakoff, the Montreal manager.
