Sun Rays Take Tight Tilt
|
The Sun Rays had to overcome a fine performance from New York pitcher Shawn Estes to grab a 3-2 win at Orlando Citrus Bowl. Estes allowed 1 earned run over 6.2 innings. Orlando reliever Frank Seminara picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Shawn Estes took the loss. Rod Beck converted his 8th save in 13 tries.
Doing his part for Orlando was second baseman Craig Biggio, who stroked a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Biggio went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Biggio said.
Orlando is 22-37 and New York, with the loss, 28-31.
