Royals Solve Cubs, 6-4
|
The Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago Cubs, 6-4, at Wrigley Field today. Leading the charge for Kansas City was second baseman Roberto Alomar. He went 2-2 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Royals bumped their record to 41-18 with this latest triumph.
Kansas City used the timely hitting of Tim Naehring to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Royals on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Naehring.
