Mets Turn Back Toronto, 1-0
|
New York Mets starter Jason Isringhausen was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Toronto Blue Jays, 1-0. Willie Blair notched his 4th save in 4 chances. New York is now riding a 4-game win streak.
B.J. Surhoff was 1-3 with a home run for New York. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, Surhoff had a clutch at-bat. Facing Toronto hurler Chris Hammond, he hit a solo home run to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Surhoff.
